A key aspect of leadership is to bring certainty into a world filled with uncertainty. This season has left many of us in the dark, and unsure how to provide clear direction in our leadership. At the start of last year when the pandemic struck and its global impact was just making itself known, here at the Global Leadership Network in the UK we were unsure whether it would even be possible to run the International Global Leadership Summit in Chicago, and just what content we would have available to bring to our UK audience.
However, as we prayed and reflected some things became clear. We didn't know whether we would have fresh new content to share, but we did know that we had a rich back catalogue of inspirational talks we could draw on if needed. We didn't know whether we would be able to hold in-person events, but we did know that we could provide a digital experience. We didn't know just what platform we would be able to use, but we did know that we would be able to use a digital platform to bring world class content to inspire influencers across our country. We didn't know whether people could afford to pay to attend, but we did know that we could draw on our reserves and deliver our content for free and ask for your donations to help us to stay in the game for another year.
After all, personally, I had been working with the Life.Church Online team in Oklahoma for the last decade to bring Church Online to over a quarter of a million unique visitors every month. I knew that we could being a digital experience to our audience, to bring inspirational leadership content to help influencers across the UK bring measurable change to their world to ignite transformation. And we knew that we had just enough in our reserves to carry us through if we could generate sufficient donations to make up the balance.
And we did.
We decided to bring certainty into this uncertain world, we committed to bringing our best content and share it with all who needed it, and we made sure that the cost of attendance would not be a barrier for anyone.
